I went to the Viking Bakery today and picked up some kleinurs, viking wafflers and oatmeal cream cookies. They were all wonderful! I have lived in the area since August and can't believe I waited so long to check it out. Birgir was very friendly and welcomed conversation about Iceland ... and the treats he sells! Read more
Great kleinur (Icelandic doughnuts), Oatmeal cookies and various variety of Icelandic traditional baked goodies. A must to go get some great treats!
Lucky you if you live in the neighbourhood, and worth the drive if you don't. Authentic tastes of Iceland in a friendly art filled space. Cinnamon and ginger cookies are delectable, the bread is delicious and the vinarterta is a taste explosion. Thank you Birgir Robertsson for bringing a ... bit of Iceland to Toronto, and taking the time to welcome us to your bakery. I can hardly wait for my next trip :-) Read more
Amazing cookies and sweets! The Kleinur are a sort of cake donut, terrific with coffee or tea. Another pleasant surprise were the Krana (?), a cylindrical looking cookie made with almond paste. My favorite is the oatmeal cookie - two delicate oatmeal cookies/wafer sandwiching a cream filling and then dipped ... halfway in chocolate. At $1-$2 an item (oatmeal cookies are $1) you can't go wrong making a visit. The owner, Birgir, is very kind and comes out to greet customers when he isn't busy baking. Read more

A great addition to the neighbourhood! I adore the kransekage, kleinur and his rye bread. Everything I've tasted has been lovely and the huge old map on the wall simply fascinates me. Stop in for something sweet - you won't be disappointed.
