So glad we finally found an authentic Italian place in Markham. Nothing fancy in decor but the food and service completely make up for it. My boyfriend is Italian and could not stop raving about how tasty the veal panini was..even said it was just like his mom’s, which says A ... LOT. The portion was generous and I could’ve shared one panini with my mom. Apparently, the chef is from the same region as my boyfriend’s mom in Italy. The place is mostly for catering and take-out but they are so friendly and pleasant with their dine-in customers, we felt like we were eating at someone’s home. My daughter had a lasagna and she polished off the whole thing. They also gave us some pizza and mash potatoes to try as they were fresh out of the oven/stove. Such lovely people! We also had an espresso and a cappuccino. We couldn’t believe how great they tasted for the price they charged. Overall, we loved loved the food and can’t wait to go back to try other things on the menu, especially the pizza. We felt like home there and this kind of place is so rare to find these days! The staff here are so nice and friendly. Seen this place many times and finally decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did cause the food here satisfied my craving for some authentic homemade Italian food. The gentleman who helped me was great! He gave me a biscotti ... and soup to take home and try which surprised me because I honestly don't expect that these days from restaurants. So for the food I ordered the meat lasagna, and the veal (I asked for it in a bun) with spaghetti. My favourite was the spaghetti, the tomato sauce was so yummy. The veal sandwich was pretty good but it was different then California sandwiches where the meat is not deep fried (baked instead) or soaked in sauce. Both are good in its own way. This place has amazing hospitality and kind people that work there. The food is also very tasty and affordable. Highly recommend!
