Holy Smoke BBQ - Calgary, Alberta

Came here for a late lunch with my son, as he was craving ribs. The establishment is dated, and is clean but not "neat". The food was ok. We ordered the Sr. Louis Rib and Brisket sandwich platter. For the price, the portions are a bit ... small, however the food was not too bad. The ribs don't come sauced, which is nice, however I thought the ribs were not as tender as some other places we have tried. The brisket sandwich was also ok. It was moist but didn't have as much smoke flavour as I had hoped. Parking is plentiful and is located behind the restaurant and the street side. The facilities are also well kept. Ambience was a bit lacking. There was no music playing, so the atmosphere was a bit "slow" but not depressing. Also outside tables are available but there is no shade. Overall id give this place another chance in case I came on an off day. Otherwise there are other places that provide a better overall experience like Paddy's or Big T. Read more

Last time I checked pork wasn't suppose to be pink and they don't shave off the fat bit into a big chuck of charred fat, tasted good could use BBQ sauce though

The food here is fantastic. I have had the brisket and potato salad and cornbread. All of it was fantastic. The cornbread is a must try....it's phenomenal. The rustic but way fun interior under prepares you for the the knee buckling goodness of the sandwiches here.Wow just great bbq , really nice selection of sauces as well. Badass BBQ.

Just had the smoked chicken and ate it before I could take a pick. Super tasty! Great sauces. Great ambience
